Privacy & cookie policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026This policy explains what personal data DNS Events collects through dnsevents.eu, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy law.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is DNS Events, [legal entity name], [registered address], Belgium — company number (KBO/BCE) [number]. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email address] or via the enquiry form on this website.
2. What data we collect
When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, organisation or event name, phone number, event type, expected attendance, event date, the services you're interested in and your message.
When you visit the website: technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is processed by our hosting provider in server logs to deliver and secure the website. We do not use analytics or advertising tracking, and we do not build visitor profiles.
3. Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a proposal — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To follow up on our conversation — our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To run and secure the website — our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Optional cookies — only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless they lead to an agreement — in that case we keep the data for as long as Belgian accounting and tax law requires. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security purposes.
5. Who we share it with
We only use service providers that need the data to deliver this website or to process your enquiry:
- Hostinger (website hosting and server security, EU).
- Google Ireland (email inbox where enquiry notifications are delivered).
- Content delivery networks — cdnjs (Cloudflare) and unpkg deliver code libraries used for the website's animations, and Unsplash delivers some of the photos. These providers receive your IP address when your browser loads the files.
6. Instagram
Our website links to our Instagram profile but does not embed Instagram content. Meta only receives data if you click the link and visit Instagram, under Meta's own privacy policy.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies. Only the following strictly necessary items are used:
Strictly necessary items don't require consent under Belgian law (art. 129 of the Electronic Communications Act). If we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, they will only be activated after you opt in through our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time:
Cookie settings8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email address] — we reply within one month.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels — www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
9. Security
The website is served exclusively over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to enquiries is limited to the people at DNS Events who handle them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
